QUOTES OF THE DAY

Here is a new addition to the blog, quote(s) of the day. Rather than being just a random selection, I shall base them on current issues. Therefore, having just received a bank statement outlining my business account charges, here’s one from Mark Twain.

A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain.
MARK TWAIN 1835 ~ 1910

The next two relate to that great political fibber and fiddler, Gordon Brown.

A lie told often enough becomes the truth.
LENIN 1870 ~ 1924

A liar should have a good memory.
QUINTILIAN, De Institutione Oratoria

Exactly!
