KURT VONNEGUT

Sad news today with the death of the writer Kurt Vonnegut (84). Together with Joseph Heller’s “Catch 22”, Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse Five” is one of the best “counter culture” books to emerge from the Second World War. A troubled man with a troubled soul, I don’t think he ever recovered from his war time experiences. Who amongst us could have emerged from the Dresden aftermath with our sanity completely intact? I hope he has finally found peace!
