On the political front, this has been a very quite week. Whilst Gordon Brown travelled the country trying to remove the communal memory of Tony Blair, the highlight of the week was the news that Hilary Benn owned shares in his father, Tony Benn. Elder Benn, the long time socialist and anti capitalist, is chairman of the following companies;

1. KIDS R US – A firm of industrial cleaners who send children up chimneys.

2. COTTON TRADERS – Owners of a series of textile mills in Yorkshire. Makers of the classic “Satanic” fashion line

3. BLACK WEDNESDAY – A publishing company who specialize in printing books by socialist authors, thereby making them a fortune.

Hilary Benn, standing for the Labour deputy leadership saw no conflict of interest. “Why should I be concerned” he said “I’m just like every other minister who is on the fiddle”.
