Iran hit the headlines again this week, but not for its willingness to act as a broker for the British press. No, this time it wants to ban western style haircuts as part of a crackdown on un-Islamic clothing. Hairstylists have been told they will loose their licences if they don’t comply, and barbers have been told to stop plucking eyebrows. Failure to comply will result in lengthy jail sentences. When you see some of the various hair styles us “westerners” have sported over the years (shown above) I think Iranians may have a point!
