THE WORD ACCORDING TO LETWIN

Today’s Independent has a lovely little snippet called the “Letwin Glossary”, with three “high –falutin” comments by Oliver Letwin, shadow Chancellor.

1. “A shift from an econo-centric paradigm to a socio-centric paradigm”

2. “A Shift in theory of the state from a provision-based paradigm to a framework based paradigm”

3. “Seek to identify externalities that participants in the free market are likely to neglect, and then seek to establish frameworks that will lead to people and organisations to internalise those externalities”

Clearly, Cameron has had a little wager with Letwin to see how many times he can use the word “paradigm” in his speeches!

In order for Mr Letwin to help the Tories secure enough votes to win the next election, here’s a little piece of advice:

“If your endeavour is to reverse the polarity of the paradigm of voting structures within the socio economic framework of the constraints of the last ten years, the most stable variant of a neo linguistic holistic approach would be the standard polemic employed by Anglo Saxon genetic inhibitors who survived the infiltration of a pro Flemish indigenous conclave”

Put through the Star Trek Universal Language Converter, this emerges as;

“If you want to end the chaos of the last ten years of Labour rule and get elected yourselves, use language people can understand, for example English”
