As Tony Blair announces his departure, film director Chris Atkins announces another Blair arrival. Don’t worry folks, this isn’t the imminent birth of a new sibling, but a 90 minute Michael Moore style documentary entitled “Taking Liberties”. Atkins has filmed an expose of “the Orwellian State” that Blair has left behind in his wake, covering some well publicised cases where freedom has been eroded. Released on June 8, the Telegraph’s article fails to say how many cinemas it will be showing in, and this is the worry. Will Blair and his minions still have enough political clout and influence to organise an enforced limited release? Only time will tell.
